Meeting the street kids and youths of Guatemala City is a challenge for the ability to let oneself be overpowered by conflicting emotions, the same that paint their borderline life.
The only poor hygiene is guaranteed by the projects involved in an attempt to push for emancipation, as the Mojoca. This allows them to wash their hair and eat in the morning, and offer school lessons to children who show an interest.
Their most important and effective form of protection is the warmth of physical contact, sharing, and friendship.
